Physician Recruitment
Requirements:
Our full-time recruitment team specifically targets the Midwest region because we have found better long-term retention and compatibility of expectations
and lifestyles targeting this region. All physicians recruited by ACUTE CARE, INC. (ACI) must meet the following requirements:
 |
MD or DO from accredited medical school; |
 |
Current state license in good standing; |
 |
Board certification (or eligible) in primary care speciality such as:
| - |
Emergency Medicine; |
| - |
Family Practice; |
| - |
Internal Medicine. |
|
 |
Significant Emergency Department experience at a comparable volume and acuity practice; |
 |
ACLS certification; |
 |
Completed credentials packet; |
 |
Excellent communication/public relations skills; |
 |
Approval of Medical Malpractice Coverage through our insurance carrier, PIC Wisconsin; |
 |
Documentation of history of good standing in provision of services (minimum 500 hours of supervised Emergency Department experience); |
 |
Ability to meet credentialing requirements outlined in your hospital's medical staff bylaws. |
ACI also recommends that within six months of their appointment, all full-time physicians become certified in Advanced
Trauma Life Support (ATLS) through the Amercian College of Surgeons (subject to class availability) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Full-time physicians recruited by ACI will participate in educational in-services, and hospital and community activities related
to the promotion of emergency services.
Interview Process
Prior to being appointed to our medical staff, physicians go through a rigorous interview process including:
 |
Performance assessment; |
 |
Credentials verification; |
 |
Verbal and written reference checks. |
We recommend the physician interview process involve hospital medical staff, administration and nursing staff. The final decision to
accept or reject any applicant rests with the administration and medical staff.
ACI places all physicians on a trial basis so that both parties have an adequate opportunity to review the practice prospect
before committing themselves to a potential long-term medical practice relationship. This trial basis has been very effective in
minimizing any mismatches in the appointment process.
Orientation
Site orientation begins the day that the physician accepts assignment and the hospital concurs. There will be a written Physician Orientation Manual
designed specifically for your facility that will be shared with each physician prior to his or her arrival at the facility.
The Recruitment Coordinator, working with the on-site Medical Director and/or the Chief Medical Officer, orient each physician to your facility.
We also request orientation assistance from members of hospital administration and medical and nursing staffs, and welcome your medical staff
to be actively involved with the Emergency Department medical staff.
